Foundation Awards 2009 Pilot Study Grant

2009 Research Grant Awarded to Carrion-Jones
The AANEM Foundation for Research and Education is proud to announce its newest pilot study grant, awarded to Dr. Monica Carrion-Jones for her study entitled "Median Nerve Cross-Sectional Area in Adults per Body Mass Index." The study awards approximately $19,670 to be completed over a 2-year study period, with possible results to be presented at the AANEM's 2011 Annual Meeting.

Need Grant Funding?

It's not too early to start the process for 2011! To begin the process, you must submit a Letter of Intent by August 15, 2010. Easy step-by-step instructions are available to assist in for getting your research project funded by the AANEM Foundation.

The Foundation may contribute up to $25,000 per year for up to 2 years of study. The Foundation does not pay indirect costs on these grants. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2011.

Maintaining Research as Goal

The research goals of the AANEM Foundation have been a major focus for the last 5 years. In that time, the Foundation has funded 10 pilot studies totaling over $325,000. The details of the studies demonstrate the importance of funding electrodiagnostic research. Presently, there are five grants with research in progress.
